 Ironsides Girls Coach

We are looking for a coach to support our developing U15 and U18 squads.  The coach will work with the team manager to support the growth of the Girls squad by retaining and developing our current players as well as recruiting new players. Ironsides is a large and inclusive club in Battersea with teams in every age group.  In coordination with the RFU we want to grow the Women’s game by establishing a thriving girls section.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging twice weekly sessions for all age ranges of girls

  • Support the transition of young people from local schools to the club environment through development and delivery of creative initiatives

  • Establish links with other local clubs to create valuable clusters of players

  • Co-ordinate with the CCC and other club officials to inform and engage the girls into the club ethos

  • Co-ordinate with your local England Rugby Community Rugby Coach/Rugby Development Officer to create a long term strategy for growth of the Girls section.

  • The coach would be encouraged to develop their skills by progressing through the RFU coaching qualifications.  Training will be paid for by the club.

  • This is a voluntary role. 

     

Time Commitment:

  • Wednesday evening (7.30pm-9.00pm)

  • Sunday morning (10.00am-12.00pm) depending on match commitments.

FIRST XV BACKS COACH

 

JOB: This role involves coaching the Womens First XV, with specific responsibility for the technical development and oversight of the backline division, and working with the coaching team to develop attacking play in general.

 

This is an excellent opportunity for any Level II coaches who are looking to expand their experience given the calibre of the players involved in the Womens First XV and during a period of significant growth in the women’s game post the WC success in 2014.

 

QUALIFICATION: UKCC Level II (the club will support aspirations to undertake a Level III qualification) 

 

DURATION: Appointed in Summer 2015 for the 2015/2016 domestic league season which runs September to January 2016. 

 

Training is on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, 7.30 - 9.00 pm, with pre-training and selection meetings at 6.45pm.  League fixtures are on Sundays.

 

LOCATION: RICHMOND RUGBY CLUB

 

PROFILE: Richmond Women’s First XV have been the Premiership champions 4 times in the last 6 years. Richmond WRFC are the largest senior women’s club in the UK and are a fully integrated section of the club, running three senior women’s sides which compete within the four top levels of domestic competition.

 

The First XV consists of 24 - 28 players, many of whom are engaged in international representative elite player or divisional representative pathways. 

 
REPORTS TO: Head Coach Women’s Section and Director of Rugby 

 

SALARY: Expenses will be covered.


PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

 

o    Opportunity to work with the Head coach to assist in the planning and delivery of an effective high quality training and development programme to prepare the First XV for domestic premiership competition in the forthcoming season. 

 

o    Specific oversight for technical development of backline players and attacking backs play, management of individual backline player development plans and input to selection meetings, collaboration re provision of feedback to Team England coaching staff.  

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

o    Work with Head Coach on the development of team tactics, video analysis, competition strategy and game and training session planning.

 

o    Manage and deliver high quality coaching sessions for the First XV backs on a weekly basis

 

o    Support coaching delivery and overview at First XV fixtures

 

o    Work with Head coach to co-ordinate and provide appropriate individual technical feedback and provide individual player goal setting and end of season formal review of performance

 

o    Consult with other section coaches on selection matters and the identification of talented players suitable for progression to the First XV squad and RFU elite player pathways.

JOB: Richmond Women’s Rugby club are seeking to appoint two Assistant Coaches who will be actively engaged in the development and delivery of club weekly training sessions and the management of individual/team performance.  Both forwards and backs experience is required, the latter being a priority in recruitment.  

 

This is an excellent opportunity for any Level II coaches who are looking to expand their experience given the calibre of the players involved in the Women’s Section at Richmond and at a time when the Women’s game in general post the WC success in 2014 is rapidly expanding.


Richmond Women’s Rugby club is a fully integrated section within the club, and is the largest senior Women’s club in the UK currently.  The club runs three senior women’s teams which compete within the four top levels of domestic competition.  A significant number of players at the club are engaged in elite international senior and junior, and divisional pathways.
